I watched the pilot of Kings last night and found it very intriguing. A retelling of the classic story of King David, the show centers on the character of David Shepherd, who gets thrust into the limelight when he unknowingly rescues the son of the King. I really enjoyed the revisionism (I always thought that Jonathan was in love with David in the classic stories). The mythology is fascinating and the characters are complex. I'm not sure how long it will last, but I look forward to see how they modernize this story. Also, Ian McShane and Susanna Thompson are in it, and those two are wonderful.
